Little Kitchen Food Shelf

The Little Kitchen Food Shelf is a no-boundaries, no-restrictions emergency food shelf serving Northeast Minneapolis and beyond. We serve all people, regardless of income or zip code. In addition, we stock dog and cat food to feed the companion animals of those in need. We also provide fresh produce from our on-site garden during the summer months, as well as hunger awareness and nutritional education year-round. We actively partner with our community to make it all work!

No ID or proofs required; no restrictions by zip code. New clients must first pre-register by calling 612-788-2444 between 9-11am, Monday-Friday; no in-person registrations are accepted. Thereafter, registered households may use the food shelf one time every four weeks (one registration per household).

Summer Produce Third Saturdays

The Little Kitchen Food Shelf will host monthly summer produce distributions on the third Saturday of every month from June - September, 2020. Households do not need to pre-register; distributions will take place from 12-1:30pm. The Little Kitchen Food Shelf is on the leading edge of a statewide movement toward making healthier emergency food available to clients. Grace Gardens (our on-site garden) produces more than 500 pounds of vegetables and herbs each season. Grace Gardens started in 2011 thanks to the efforts of volunteers and guidance from Diane James and A Backyard Farm. In addition, more than 3,000 pounds of produce is donated to the food shelf from neighbors and the community during the growing season each year. For more information about our Saturday produce distributions or for guidelines about donating fresh produce, please call 612-788-2444.
